Organic Baobab Fruit Pulp Powder
The Baobab, Adansonia digitata, also known as the upside-down tree and monkey bread tree, is a drought-tolerant tree common to much of sub-Saharan Africa. It is one of the oldest trees on the planet, and the species can reach heights of between 5–25 m (exceptionally 30 m) tall and up to 7 m (exceptionally 11 m) in trunk diameter.
Inside the coconut-sized and hard wooden shell, the Baobab Pulp dries naturally on the tree. There is no heat extraction, freeze-drying, or pasteurization involved in the processing. Only a mechanical process is used to obtain the soft, pure, powdery pulp. The Baobab Pulp is 100% natural and organic, with no chemicals or preservatives added. It has a unique, pleasant flavor reminiscent of pear, with a mild, slightly acidic aftertaste due to its high percentage of organic acids such as citric acid, tartaric acid, malic acid, and succinic acid.
Our Baobab is ethically and sustainably harvested in partnership with rural producer communities of more than 4,500 organically certified smallholders in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
